Very simple statements can sum up an overall description of sensation in the Astral. Being there is almost the same as being awake somewhere. You have a body and you are in a place. My Astral body resembles my physical body. My senses are basically the same with sight being almost the sole sense I use. I have touched objects and heard sounds but never tried to smell or eat anything.

        In some of my early projections I was very interested in the surfaces of objects. I closely observed the surface of a chair with a scientific curiosity. There was a limit as to how close I could observe and still see a surface. During the same projection I also observed my image on a wall mirror. I generally give little attention to my Astral body but instead am usually quite fascinated with the visual world that surrounds my consciousness in its Astral body.

        Vision in the Astral has always been the most pleasurable sensation yet there is a level of intensity and one other quality that makes Astral vision so nice. Vision is for me the first sensation that lets me sense where I am. Seeing and knowing that I am in the Astral come simultaneously so the flood of goodness and warmth which permeates me has always been connected with sight. It is a type of response to a condition that never varies. Seeing the Astral always makes me feel deeply positive.

        Vision implies position and dimensions. There is space between objects in the Astral but I have never felt air in my movements. There are no visual distortions because of a lack of air nor is there anything unusual in the idea of not having to breathe. I have never tried to breathe but I have a mouth and there is no sensation that my lungs are missing yet I just don't breathe. My Astral vision is always crystal clear and there is no need for the corrective lenses that my physical body needs.

        It seems that practically all minor physical defects are eliminated from the Astral body. I have never felt discomfort of any kind in the Astral.

        The greatest field of vision I have observed has been a star filled night sky. There is indeed a star filled universe in the Astral!
